This place seems to have slowed down a lot since I started visiting. I remember coming on here to find 20 users online. Tonight, I'm the only one! lol Where'd everybody go???
Maybe things will pick up again once we get more Goo music.

It's always slow when the guys aren't touring.

I also think people are busy with school and work right now. Many have also left and gone other places.

There's usually someone around here.....just not 20 like in the past. :(

To me, most of the hardcore fans were of the sscw aboynamedgoo era. Dizzy was somewhat acceptable and disapointing at the same time, but it changed since then. The goos are more stable and mainstream since then, but mainstream ppl aren't hardcore fans. Now, we don't get albums like aboynamedgoo, but the ocassional awesome song like Big Machine and Let love in..the single. Most of everything else sucks.

Then u take in account the time it takes them to release albums. So for me, since aboynamedgoo, I only really like 4 songs...not really crazy about everything else. On the other hand, on aboynamedgoo CD, i love at least 5 songs to death...and really like the others. Add in SSCW...it's amazing.

To me, the goo's were once the most amazing band in the world with albums worth buying. Now, they're just a group that produce awesome songs once in a while, only worth downloading individual songs on your mp3 player

I stopped posting your birthday because you haven't posted here in over a year. I assume if you haven't posted in over a year that you're not here anymore at all. You have no idea how many birthdays I've posted for people who are just gone. So I started checking and made a rule if there were no new posts in a year then no birthday thread.

no biggie..... I've just recently started posting a bit more. I've been working alot and time here doesn't usually permit me to post. So I just lurk without logging in. Usually by the time I log in I have a call I have to take and then I have to log out again. I don't even post on IM much. Just do alot of reading. I'm still here!

Tripper's good. We email every now and again and catch up. I don't see her much when there aren't shows.

I probably won't be going to NYE. It's just too hard with the kids to get away that time of year. Not too mention the astronomical cost of everything right now. Maybe when they get a little older.

Glad to see you posting again Kari. We've missed you around here. I remember how you used to make me laugh. ;D

OMG! I went to both shows by myself! Down south I knew someone at every show I went to within 9 hours of Nashville. In Buffalo I don't know anyone. :'( I guess I should post more often, like I used too.

I'm good. My kids are getting big now. It's hard to believe they're 11 and 8. They grow sooooo fast.

Yeah unfortunately we lost a lot of really great posters during the nr599 dark period. Some of them migrated back but many did not. I keep hoping people will come out of lurker mode and post again too. It was so fun around here before the "dark period". We usually have more activity than we've had lately and I think it's that many people are either busy with work or school and just don't have the time they once had to post.

Yes, alot happened during the "dark period". I'm sure you remember Eva. Well she got really sick and her friend, nr599, took over moderating/administrating the board for her for nearly a year. His first mistake was opening the board up for anyone to register. As soon as he did that we had tons of trolls posting crap about the band and the members started to get mad because he allowed it. Then he started getting mad at some of the regulars and began banning people left and right. Admittedly, the poor guy was out of his element and under huge stress because of Eva's illness. But he handled the people here with no respect and eventually drove more than half of the regular posters away. It was a dark time that the board almost didn't recover from. Eva eventually returned and apologized for her friend's behavior but by then the members who had left found other boards they were comfortable with.

Eventually Eva had to quit altogether because of her health. At that point Eva wanted Adela and I to take over but MFC only allowed her to choose one of us so she chose Adela. But Adela eventually asked me to take over and so I did. Adela is still around if I need help. Oh and I should mention that during the "dark period", MFC virtually vanished. Once Eva came back we had no support from MFC and couldn't get access to the WOG site. We now have a new MFC who actually answers my emails and gives me updates ;D But we still don't really have access to the site ... just the board.

So that's the history of the WOG board during your absence.

Things are very calm here now. Sometimes it's so calm I think everyone's asleep ;) Calm is definitely better than all that hostile drama though. A board should be a place to come for information and community not hostility and stress. So I'm glad things are the way they are right now. And once the guys put the new album out and start touring again things will pick back up.

I'm glad things are calm! I can really do without all the soap operas! LoL. I get enough of that from the other military wives, OY!!!

Is it bad that I didn't even bother with the album after "Gutterflower"? :x They just got too soft, I was afraid I would just get an album with no sound LoL.

Don't feel like you're the only one that felt that way. I never bought "LLI" because I knew I'd never listen to most of those songs. It's just personal preference of a certain type of music. Not my cup of tea.

Crap hubby just had to make a trip back. Went by himself for a funeral. $690 bucks for a last minute ticket. At least he got to fly into Syracuse which is a lot closer to his mom's home than flying into Buffalo. I will get back there again sometime. I am not sure your hubby is ready for all the women in his house again. LOL He must not remember how we were ;)
