Title: Why was it not a single??!!! Post by tkc1989 on Jan 16th, 2007, 4:09pm I know it can probably be said of loads of songs, but why didn't they release All Eyes On Me as a single??!! I just can't get enough of the song atm, and it's a good length for radio/tv...and the possibilities for a music video are endless!!! And I know they released something like 5 from DUTG anyway- just feel it would've made a great single. |

Title: Re: Why was it not a single??!!! Post by The Cerulean O on Jan 16th, 2007, 5:08pm Hate This Place would have been awesome, too, but yeah, there were five. Once you get to five, it's insane. |

Title: Re: Why was it not a single??!!! Post by Shannon on Jan 16th, 2007, 6:28pm This is a great song. It's always been one of my favorites and it's amazing live. I can't remember the exact quote....Nicole I know you'll know....but John referred to this song as their epic live song or something like that. It's too bad they aren't still playing it. |

Title: Re: Why was it not a single??!!! Post by the redo on Jan 16th, 2007, 7:59pm No exact quote... I think it might have just been from a conversation between John and a fan of some sort. They mentioned how wonderful All Eyes On Me was live and John said something about them considering doing a live concert recording to showcase the harder versions of their songs, specifically that song. I'll never understand why they didn't perform that song at LIB, since it was the reason for LIB. It wasn't even on the orignal setlist, but it was played at the private show a couple nights before. And while I agree that they could ave released another 2-3 songs from DUTG, I really think they were running out of steam at that point. By the time Broadway was released they had been promoting for 2 years and touring almost as long and, according to them, they were all sort of falling apart in their personal lives.* *I'd totally support them releasing another song from DUTG in 2007 if it means the LLI songs will leave my radio. :D Sorry. Had to get a LLI dig in there. It's been at least 12 hours since I last insulted it. |

Title: Re: Why was it not a single??!!! Post by carlyn on Jan 16th, 2007, 8:20pm All Eyes On Me would have made an amazing single, but so would Acoustic #3 and Hate This Place... but I guess they can't just release all their good songs to the radio, because then they would release pretty much everything, in my opinion. |

See, I can't imagine Acoustic #3 on the radio. I love it, but I don't think it's a radio song. I mean, it's a short song, even after EOAC. Hate This Place, though. I will start a radio station somewhere in the middle of nowhere in Texas just so I can get Hate This Place on the air if I have to. |

Title: Re:whyyyyyyyyy? Post by Pondering My Fate on Jan 17th, 2007, 3:28pm I think I'm still the only person that doesn't like Hate This Place, haha. It just never did anything for me! And I don't know why! Slightly more on the topic of the thread, this one time, a friend of mine who was obsessed with "All Eyes On Me" got all excited because he found a live version of it on whatever crappy file-share program he was using. So he sent it to me, and what was it? The track taken right from the CD, orchestra bit and all, with crowd applause noise pasted on top of it. ::) I laughed. I cried. And the boy was in denial when I told him that his "live" mp3 was totally fake. Aww, good times. As for Acoustic #3, didn't John say he specifically made it that short so that Warner Bros. wouldn't release it as a single? Said he didn't want to give people the impression that all their songs are ballads, or something along those lines. (Oh, the irony.) |

I love the fake live version. The first time I heard it I was like "Wow, the band sounds perfect". The second time I figured it out and was horrified someone was that desparate. Our very own blue o pointed out that the cheering is looped as well. I think it I still have it somewhere, because it's too good to let go. And yes, John apparently made Acoustic #3 short and didn't name it appropriately because the label was eyeing it as a single. Kinda makes you wonder why LLI isn't filled with titles like "Synth and keyboards #1", "Synth and keyboards #2", etc, etc.* *LLI dig. I listened to all of "Listen" in the car today, so I have to even it out. |

It was on the set list. "All Eyes On Me", "Burnin' Up" and "We Are the Normal" were all skipped over after the storm hit. You can see the set list during the bonus video. Robby holds it up. |

Title: Re: Why was it not a single??!!! Post by Pon on Jan 20th, 2007, 9:02pm I like the song, but I don't see it as a single. "Hate this place" should have been a single, but all of the other singles deserved to be before "hate this place". I think "all eyes on me" has too much association with 2pac. I'm not a rap fan, but that's how I feel when I hear that title and I think most ppl would feel the same. I think "all eyes on me" was the title of a 2pac album as well as a song or single. I think 2pac is a loser and that's why he's dead, but still, he made an impact on the music world and to have goo touching that is wierd, even if it's unintentional. If I was the goo's, I would have never chosen that title. |

Title: Re: Why was it not a single??!!! Post by JohnnysValentine on Jan 21st, 2007, 9:05pm I agree that All Eyes On Me would have been a great single. I also think The Goos got jipped when they lost the Grammy to Celine Dion. John called her a cow! John said that one of the band members mooned her tour bus but wouldn't say who did it. Does anyone know who the guilty party is? LOL Lauren |

Title: Re: Why was it not a single??!!! Post by The Cerulean O on Jan 22nd, 2007, 10:35am *huggles Johnny* It's okay, the Grammy people are idiots. "Crazy Bitch" by Buckcherry is nominated this year, I think my mom said. Ignore them, you're better off with some other random award, hopefully involving the radio or voted for by fans. |
