Yeah...no kidding. VH1 used to be a huge Goo supporter but not so much anymore.  :-/

Aren't videos more likely to debut on the net first anyways??? I don't think it's bad though cuz myspace is pretty big community.

I just that the video will actually play for me.  There is a live video of Without You Here on the ggd myspace and every live video they posted I haven't been able to see.

yea thanks....I wish it would debut on yahoo.com like the others did....sadly I don't watch VH1 very much...though I will try to start watching it to see if I can manage to catch the video....I typically miss videos that I want to see or catch them somewhere during the video.

Hip hop rules the world these days! I think it's really sad too, as half the videos out there fail to receive fair airplay, or any recognition whatsoever. There should be equality in music, I mean, who wants to watch hip-hop videos 24/7? I know I don't! VH-1 and MTV started out as rock and roll music channels. They should play an assortment of music to please everyone! They cater to the fans of hip hip, and I think that's just plain wrong!  :P

OH!!! *hugs* I know how you feel, I didn't have Window's Media Player on my mac and I couldn't see anything on their page because thats all they had.

I think they should switch it to quicktime, I know the majority of everyone has that...I think?

*sigh* myspace...seems like the universe revolves around that now.

I think you're looking at it wrong. MTV was never about rock and roll music, it was about  young ppl, especially teens. Most young ppl nowadays listen to hip hop and it's the most popular music and its fans are the most loyal.

It may not be fair...but then again, it is. It's business at the end of the day and each business have a target market.  U asked who want to watch hip hop 24/7? U'd be surprised how many teens would.

I didn't really have high hopes for SWY because I don't like P R Brown's style of videos, with the words, etc.  I was delighted by the final product for SWY though and really think it is a beautiful video.

LLI... Well, I liked the one little clip where it shows the flowers open in sync with that one piano-y part.  That's about it...The rest just looked like a snowy tv channel and I'm pretty tired of that after after really sketchy cable the last couple of days.

I guess I just missed the point where the Goos became all political and 'save the world' like.  They used to spread a very cool message about how to be decent people just by being seemingly decent people who didn't do bad things and sort of lead by example.  Now I feel like the message is being forced down my throat and I'm getting tired of it.

Flame if you must...

My opinion of the video
I liked it. I think it has a really good message and I liked the way they made it. I do agree with Nicole in that I'm not too sure about the 'Save the World' theme. I hope they don't over do it. Too much of a good thing.

Totally unrelated, but some parts of the video reminded me of the haunted video from The Ring.  :scared:

It needed sum scenes without the words across it. Bit too political but always good to see the boys doing what they do best!

WOW! GREAT VIDEO!!! It's definitely something that everybody can watch. More meaningful and deeper than I'd expected. I'm very impressed!!

I am a Mac user too, in fact, our Goo guys all use Macs as well. Why they don't use Quicktime, I'll never know? I downloaded Windows Media Player to my Mac [it's available], but it's very picky as to what it will work with! It will not play the videos on My Space. I have to use my PC for that! :P

Yeah, I know. I have to use my mom's PC in order to see somethings that my mac won't show.

Is it bad that I laughed within the first 10 seconds of the video? :-[ Seriously, it was... cheesy. I like it visually, but I got sick of the whole  WAR RAPE GENOCIDE OVERPOPULATION BOOBS DEATH POVERTY CRISIS thing before they even got through the second verse. It felt like a video that would be cool if it were for a different (and perhaps more notoriously political) band; but it didn't seem right as a Goo Goo Dolls video. Know what I mean?

That and I didn't like the shots of John's half-assed guitar playing. Either play it or don't; don't dangle it around your neck and strum it every so often just to tease me. :P


...on the other hand, the cheesiness of the video matches the cheesiness of the lyrics, so if that's what they were trying to do, then mission accomplished!

LOL! I respect your opinion and I'm glad you voiced it.

I thought the video was great. I don't think the video was too much though...it was pefect. It's not like "black eyes peas" where it's about peace, and then it's "my humps", which is stupid. I think the goos changed, but it's still sensible. Yeah, their name probably don't fit..haha.

Tis all well n good having meanings behind the songs but at this rate they gona go down the whole no one cares any more route like green day etc where you here sooooo much anti this and anti that that the audience begin to dislike the band, I hope they dont :S
