Title: Just a thanks...
Post by Hysteria on Aug 15th, 2006, 5:28pm
I know this will probably sound really cheesy and stuff, but the last couple of months have been really difficult for me. Y'see a week before my birthday i learnt my mum was diagnosed with cancer, and it's all been downhill from there on. She's finished treatment now and they're sure they got rid of it all... but she's still really ill, and it's hard seeing her like this, being sick, not being able to eat or drink properly because of the radiotherepy and chemotherepy... and it's just been really hard to come to terms with the whole thing as well.  Anyways... the whole thing has been really difficult, and although it sounds cheesy like i said before, when i was feeling hte lowest of lows, i was listening to the goo's and yeah, it made me feel better, and gave me a ashred of hope to keep going and stuff, even when I felt like i wanted to just give in completely, and so I guess i just wanted to say thanks really, cause their music has been really helpful and really kept me going and stuff and yeah, just really thankful.

Awww....I'm so sorry to hear about your mom's diagnosis. That's great news though that the chemo is working. I know exactly what that's like. My mom was diagnosed when I was twenty and it was horrible to watch her go through it. But she's been cancer free for nearly 15 years now. Let's hope nothing but the best for your mom too.

I'm so glad that while you've been going through this you were able to find solace in the Goos music. That's wonderful.

Oh, no, you sound embarrassed, but there's no need for you to be.  The band's music is what brings us all together at this message board; it's not some random congregation of people.  :P

I am also sorry to hear of your struggle, but just hang in there.  Their music has also helped me get through tough times.  Just when I felt I had no support, I would find comfort in their songs, and it was enough to get me through the day.
