OH MY GOD!!

I was supposed to be in Atlanta tonight but I didn't go cause my friend who was supposed to go with me, her mom went into the hospital last night. �

Sooooo, my dear, darling friend Eva saw John after the show and told him about how I couldn't be there.....so he CALLED ME! �

Well, I was at my friend's birthday party where I couldn't hear anything so I didn't answer the phone!!! �I could kick myself.....but, but, but..now I have this sweet, sweet voice mail from Mr John Rzeznik! � ;D

:drama:

Here is what he said:

"Hey Susan, how you doin'? �My name is John...I play in a band called The Goo Goo Dolls. � I'm really sorry you couldn't make it....I hope everything is okay for you and, um, �hopefully we'll get to meet you soon.....alright, you take care doll, bye." �

*cries* �HOW sweet is that?? �

I am blown away!!

He HAS to be the most humble man alive that he thought he had to tell me who he was....that he plays in a band. �How cute and adorable!

I am sure that John probably doesn't read this board but I am so touched by his message!! �It was the right thing to do to stay here with my friend and it was incredibly kind of him to leave me a message!!

Thank you John...you made my night!! � :love:

And my thanks to Eva (Gutterdog)!! �She could have spent that time talking to John herself and instead she told him MY story and had him call me. �I am not sure what i did to deserve that but I will remember it always.

Awww, these Goos never cease to amaze me. They have only been on this promo tour for, what, two weeks? And they're already more generous and giving to fans than ever! Every time I forget what makes them so special, I need only read a post like this to draw me right back in.

First off you are a wonderful friend for staying with her. Kudos to you for that!!

That was very sweet of John to call you. It is nice to be reminded why we like and respect these guys so much.

That's so sweet!  It reminds me of when a girl at work ran into him at the airport and she called me just so he could say hi.  

It's little reminders like this that make me love the guys even more!!

totally jealous right now!!  how many times have you listened to it?  if it were me, i'd be listening to it on repeat!!

first off, i love the fact that Goo is cool enough to do things like that for their fans, where others might stick their nose up.  second, Goo friends are the best!  can never have too many. . . ;D

Aww....you guys are all so sweet and you are so right.  I already thought so highly of the guys....the way they treat the fans, all of the love they show us during shows, how hard they work out there for months and months, years at a time playing anywhere they can....it's a real passion....that they have for playing and that we all have for them.

And then to add in just pure, flat out kindness.  I love them so much....and I have never even met them.  This whole day it would just come back to me....that he did it, how his voice sounded, what he said....the fact that Eva MADE it happen...it just speaks of the bond that we all share and it means so much to me.  

Did I mention how he sounded.   :drama:  Seriously....his sweet, earnest kind voice.  I will never forget it.  

Eva told me there were other people there....that is SO cool that you were there when he called me Kayla!!  Yes...I freaked out.  Actually, I cried...cause I wish I had answered the phone.  But this way I have that sweet voice mail.....so yeah.....I am a happy girl.

Hey Suz,
I just got back - MIDNIGHT! Went to IKEA and drove 8 hours - so totally worth it! Getting ready to check out the pictures. - So John's Chick - or anyone else that was on the steps - IF you got a picture of John on the phone - Suz and I need it! I think I got great shots but my battery died JUST as I was going to take a picture with Robby - oh well, great memories! BUT WOULD LOVE TO HAVE A PICTURE OF JOHN ON THE PHONE! Eva :)

Ah, that's sooooooo kool Suzie :D. What a great experiance.  This is all so overwhelming, reading everyones stories and their experiance of meeting or having some contact with the boys. I'm loving them. Just makes you even more excited for the tour and album!!
What's also good about him leaving a voice mail, is that you can save it and just listen to it over and over again. lol
I'm sure speaking to him would have been even more great, but least this way you have something to keep, and not only that, it's something that's personally addressed to you from John himself! How kool!! :D

that's awesome. in some ways nicer than actually talking to john cause you can play it back whenever and not have to worry about saying something embarrassing to him!
