I just noticed... and havn't seen anyone else metion it.... but has anyone else seen the similarity in the two? (Lazy Eye/Better Days) In Lazy Eye, John holds up the cube with the words written on it (trust, Truth etc.)
... and in Better Days it's those single words again. exept carved in the trees... (hope, Love etc)
anyone think there's a hidden connection? Or is it just a co~inky~dink???? I just thought it to be odd that they used the "single words" thing again ~in another video.

Hmmm...interesting.

I think one of the reasons I like Goo so much is that they seems so unfazed (and disgusted a bit) by the hollywood/rock star crap. I think, like many of us, they're continually trying - through music and actions- to make people see what really matters and that's the simple things that seem to be lost these days. Can you ever say that enough? Great message, great guys.

ANYHOOOO....That's my interpretation. I'm not a psychologist, nor do I play one on TV. :glasses:

Eh, I think it's just a coincidence. Only one word is repeated (Hope) plus it's a different director and there is an eight year gap between the videos. I don't remember what I did yesterday, let alone 8 years ago.

Interesting replies.....

I dunno..... actually seein the pics side by side I think there is something. Maybe not a direct connection or message to be linked, but a similar thought process.
I know someone else directed and years have passed.
However years passing wouldn't diminish what was accoplished in a Video I did. I can't believe that John and the guys would just say here you go, heres the song, make the video...... and have no say in a thought processs or what they'd like to see portrayed. With those pics all right there I think girl right next to him is right.... they prob looked back and said well that worked lets use the same idea and try to make a point direct thru the music and with the words.

I don't know. Lazy Eye wasn't a huge song/video by any means. John commented after making the "Iris" video that that was the first video of theirs he liked, so I don't think that they're trying to "not fix something that's not broken" or repeat the success of a previous video.

But then again, there's also the recurring "lies" theme on MANY of their songs ;) I'm going to side with coincidence on this one :)

I can see the simalarities!!! Speaken of Lazy Eye i need to listen to that again i forgot what a kick a$$ song it is!!!!!

yeah that and talking about how he can never be what you want him to be...

i think that is a common thing, though, artists have recurring themes in their songs.

I actually think all the words on the box in Lazy Eye were just "H" words (well, there's probably a bit more to it). It just happened that Hope is an H word and also fits in to the theme of Better Days.

aw lazy eye thats my favorite song of theirs...i wish to god they'd do it in concert again! (that long way down and hate this place) but hey a girl can dream :D
