Yeah I'd like to see Harry Potter too. My friend went to the premiere for it and sat in front of Daniel Radcliffe. 
I wish I had connections like that.
I also want to see Transformers and Pirates of the Caribbean.

I went to the passport center in Portland yesterday and filled out all the paperwork to renew my passport. I paid the extra fees to expedite the process, and overnight it to Boston. With the expedited process I'm suppose to get it within two weeks, but things are really backed up at the Passport Agency right now and it could take as long as four weeks.
Within two weeks of my departure date (August 1st) I can go directly to Boston to reapply, but apparently it is nearly impossible to get an appointment.
The normal renewal wait time is 3 months or longer.
So now all I can do is wait, in a week or so I can check it's progress online. The person at the passport agency was optimistic that I would receive it in time.
I wish I would have realized this much earlier, my passport expired in January 2007.
It is good I did decide to check the date. If I had shown up on August 1st I would have been fucking screwed and stranded in Boston. Plus all the money I've spend for this trip would have be thrown out the window.

Yeah... passports are a mess right now with the whole 'if you want to go to Canada you need a passport' trainwreck money grab.
I hope it works out for you. I imagine if we don't see you posting on August 2nd, you've succeeded. Otherwise, practice fitting yourself into a suitcase.
