Well Nicole ... at least you can't be accused of kissing up to the band You're entitled to your opinion and usually share it tactfully....even if it isn't popular. Better to be honest than a fraud.

Hey, they said they wanted to live in Buffalo because they wanted people's real opinions. Last time I checked I have a bad accent, can pronounce "Scajaqueda", and could exist solely on wings, so they're getting my damn opinion. Pretty tricky, beacon of light. You almost have this thread on topic... Tricky...

"Scajaqueda" How do you pronounce that? And I've met you ... I don't remember you having a bad accent

Sca jack quid uh. Or... "the 198". Actually, the real feat is correctly spelling it. You probably didn't hear me speak enough to hear the accent. But I've just spent 4 long years with snooty people (usually from downstate) in Rochester constantly pointing out alllllll of the 'different' vowel sounds I have. I eliminated the words bagel, fire, and Rochester from my vocabulary while there.

I've been accused on more than one occasion of having a very distinct Michigan accent. I didn't realize we had that distinct of an accent here but apparently we do. People tell me all the time they can tell a Michigan accent right away.....who knew! I just met a woman over the weekend from Toronto. Her son's name is the exact same as my nephew's name...Colin. She pronounced it in her Toronto accent and it almost sounded like colon. I pronounced it cah lin. She got all pissy with me because I couldn't say like she could. I tried...I really did. I could hear it in my head but it just wouldn't come out that way. But she was all offended because I couldn't say it correctly....according to her.

I can actually hear a Michigan accent. My freshman year I lived with a Michigander and could hear it. But I would never get worked up over it. Life is too short to argue about how to pronounce Colin or 'socks'.

Congrats on the m&g green O. I didn't realize you'd won one. When I was in college one of my roomies was from New Yawk. I used to love to tease her about her cawfee tawk. It wasn't critical ... just fun. I actually love accents. I can do a pretty good suthen accent but apparently I need to brush up on my Canadian accent
