The Eddie's Attic show was great. I was wondering how he'd be without the full band and of course he was awesome. He sounds exactly like he does on the CD.
He said he is coming back in May...I can't wait

So I got a little package today from Pryde...containing a cd that bain autographed for me and my hubby. I'm so excited! Now if only he'd play a show down here...that I can actually get to.

Glad you're enjoying "Bird in the Hand". Hopefully you'll get to hear Bain do those songs live soon. I'll see him next week and see if he's got anything booked this summer for Florida. We're planning a trip to Orlando this summer, and if we could work in a Bain show at The Social - that would make my vacation.

Sorry I forgot to look for you at the Eddie's show.  There were a bunch of my Bain Fan Friends/Rock Boat Buddies there that I hadn't seen since the Boat so I got caught up in catching up with everybody. But I am definitely planning on coming to the Smith's Olde Bar show with some friends. I can't wait until April 18th when he plays my home venue - The Handlebar - and hopefully we'll make it to the Columbia and Charlotte shows. And plan ahead - Bain told me there's a good chance he'll be playing Athfest this summer. They've announced the headliners - Perpetual Groove, The Whigs, and the Drive By Truckers. Keep checking www.athfest.com for details.
And for any other Bain and REM Fans out there,
www.athensmusic.net now has Various Artists Finest Worksongs: Athens Bands Play the Music of REM.
Bain has three tracks on the cd - Finest Worksong, (Don't Go Back to) Rockville, and Fall on Me. They're also singing along on the "End of the World" finale.
The cd also has songs by Liz Durrett, Claire Campbell, Tin Cup Prophette, Modern Skirts, The Observatory, Patterson Hood, and Five Eight. Net proceeds from the Finest Worksongs release will benefit Community Connection of Northeast Georgia and Family Connection/Communities in Schools.
I love Bain's version of Finest Worksong.

Unfortunately something has come up for May 18 - so I won't be able to go to Bain's Smith's Olde Bar show.
I'm hoping to make it to the next Charlotte (May 23) and Columbia shows (June 9th). And Bain's announced he's playing Athfest on the Main Stage (Washington and Pulaski Streets) on Saturday, June 23, at 7:00 pm in Athens. Hopefully I'll make that one too. 
I've been to 3 of Bain's shows during the last 3 weeks and he and his band are sounding the best I've ever heard them full band - so that Smith's show is going to be soooooo good!!!

Today I got an email from Rival Entertainment:
Modern Skirts w/ Bain Mattox and Shot From Guns & Cary Ann Hearst and the Gunstreet Girls, Friday, July 27 The Loft
Hopefully I can make that Atlanta show!!! And one of the "Gunstreet Girls", Ash, was once in Bain's band a long, long time ago. So it will be cool to see him again.
Hope you can make the Smith's show - and take lots of first-timers with you!!!

When we saw the band at Athefest, Chris S. (lead guitarist) told me that they are going to start having some new songs available for download on their website soon.
