Derby Eve Show with pics

Goo Goo Dolls concert, Derby Eve. The important things: 1.) We made the rail!! I’ve never been on the rail at a Goo show! 2.) I got guitar picks and a set list. 3.) The set list: Stay With You Slide Feel the Silence Black Balloon January Friend Tucked Away Cuz Ur Gone Give A Little Bit Naked -- with drum into Name Before It’s Too Late Slave Girl -- awesomeness, I’ve never heard that one live Better Days Broadway -- with a short sax solo and a long Rzeznik guitar solo, is this new? Let Love In Iris American Girl -- been a long time since they played that one. Honestly, I did not think I was going to make this show. I’m having horrible back and leg issues and find out if I’m going to need surgery the 16th. But the show was free so that made it even more appealing until I found out that you had to have VIP passes to even get near the stage and it suddenly became a mission. We needed two pairs and we got ‘em so there was no way my back was gonna keep me down. Took my cane, some vicodin, some muscle relaxers, had a beer and was decently comfortable and by the time Goo hit the stage, I was too occupied to think about anything else. John kept smacking around the camera guy every time he got too close to him. First he would just wave his hands at ‘em when he got to close, but by the end of it, he just sticking his hands right on the lens. I have to say though, it didn’t much phase the guy, he was very persistent. 4th Street live was packed! I’ve never seen so many people shoved together in that small of a space in my life! I’m thinking this was probably the biggest show and largest crowd 4th Street has ever had. It was crazy! Fun fact: The Goos are at the Derby today sharing their little box/millionaire row with Nick Lachey and Justin Timberlake. Love to be a fly on the wall for that. I’ve got about 200 pictures, but I’ll only post some of my favs. . .

I don't know if I should believe a review of someone who just admitted to mixing Vicodin and alcohol before the show... Thanks for the review. Random thoughts - I'm a little sad GALB has found its way back into the setlist. If the guitar part of Broadway was a kind of 'jam' session, they started doing that last summer. A+ for a picture of Mike. Re: fun fact - Awkwaaard. (I hope your leg and back issues get resolved soon. Back pain is the worst.)

FANTASTIC!!! I'm so excited that you made it to the rail. I believe every Goo fan deserves to be there for at least one show. There's nothing like it. Thanks so much for the great pictures and posting a review for us. I too hope your back feels better soon. I truthfully don't know how you managed to a) stay awake and b) not collapse after taking vicodin and having a beer. Kudos for that one and remembering the events of the night

My stomach is squirming. I'm officially super excited for when I'm going to see the Goos this summer. Hooray form drum intro! Hope they've made that the usual intro by now. Also awesome that John's started actually doing some solos again. Congrats on making the rail and getting guitar picks! You were really really close by the look of your pictures (which were, by the way, really good).

Hey Mandy... Thanks for the review, and for sharing your pictures with us. Yay for Slave Girl and American Girl...yeah, all the "girl" songs. Congrats on getting a nice spot up front. It sounds like you had a good time. Sorry to hear about your back and leg problems. Hang in there; I hope you will find some relief from your pain soon.
