The Goo Goo Dolls Hits CD 10/26/07 . (PR) At last, The Goo Goo Dolls have gathered up their most-beloved songs and will release Volume One of a Greatest Hits package, the first-ever of their 21-year career, on November 13th, on Warner Bros. Records in a single-disc package. The Goo Goo Dolls Greatest Hits, Vol. 1 – The Singles will include the band’s three Number One smashes — “Name,” “Iris,” and “Slide,” — as well as the Top 10s “Black Balloon,” “Dizzy,” “Broadway,” “Here is Gone,” “Big Machine,” “Sympathy,” “Better Days,” “Stay With You,” and “Let Love In,” the title track from the Goos most recent album, which has been certified gold. Each single has scored across the panel at multiple radio formats. Also featured on the album is a remix of “Feel the Silence” by acclaimed mixer Michael Brauer (The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney). Also expected in early 2008 will be Greatest Hits Vol. 2, which will include new recordings, remixes, a plethora of rarities to include B-sides, some unexpected cover versions of some of the band’s favorite songs and more. A DVD/MVI disc of live footage and extras will also be included in the deluxe package with a complete concert from their show at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado in June of 2007. The band — Rzeznik, bassist Robby Takac, and drummer Mike Malinin — have been on the road since Spring of 2006, supporting Let Love In and show no signs of slowing down as they’ve just completed a string of sold-out shows in the UK. The track-listing for The Goo Goo Dolls Greatest Hits, Vol. 1 – The Singles is as follows: “Let Love In” “Dizzy” “Here Is Gone” “Slide” “Name” “Stay With You” “Before It’s Too Late” “Broadway” “Feel the Silence” “Better Days” “Big Machine” “Black Balloon” “Sympathy” “Iris” http://www.antimusic.com/news/07/oct/29The_Goo_Goo_Dolls_Hits_CD.shtml

I don't understand why the songs aren't in order. I especially don't understand why Feel the Silence is stuck in the middle WHEN IT HASN'T EVEN BEEN RELEASED AS A SINGLE. And 'early 2008' needs to hurry up.

I was wondering how that song could be on there as well. It's one of my favorites off LLI and I was hoping it would be released as a single. Maybe it was supposed to but BITL replaced it.

I'm Still Here was a project John did solo. I don't think they'd include it on a GGDs greatest hits CD. Maybe it'll end up on volume 2 with the rarities and stuff.

| Nooooo. Don't take up precious space that can be used for rarities. I'm very happy the Goos never played solo stuff live or acted like it belongs with Goo stuff. It's good that they can go off and do their own things, but they don't let it overshadow what they're doing as a band.

I know I have all these songs...but I want the CD....for my box! You're right Nicole. They're very honest with their work.

I was thinking......do you think they'll release Feel the Silence off of this CD? Maybe that's why it's included/listed as one of the hits. If they release a single off of the CD it's a better way to promote the CD don't you think?

Shannon, that's exactly what I was thinking. Maybe like they did with EOAC, when they used 2 days in Feb to promote it. It'll give them a reason to appear on the shows and perform a song when they go to talk about their "new album". (ETA: Although I'm not sure 2 days in Feb ever got released as a single with EOAC, but still...)

| This could be a reason, but they're then assuming FTS will be successful enough to be 'a hit' before it even gets released. It's also confusing because they are promoting this collection as their set of 14 top 10 songs, when they have left GALB off (probably for royalty reasons) and included another song which has never charted, so people will think FTS is one of the 14. God forbid someone writes a review and checks facts on the songs, they will find FTS is NOT one of those songs and it'll look like the band is hyping itself on a lie (hmmm, where have we seen that recently?). I don't really care that they've chosen to add FTS to the tracklisting, since bands frequently add 'new' songs to greatest hits cds to increase sales, but they're typically at the beginning or end, not in the middle where they look like they're part of the greatest hits.
