Takac music festival moving to Hamburg Business First of Buffalo - 8:05 AM EDT Wednesday, May 2, 2007by James FinkBusiness First The frosty relationship between the "Music is Art" festival and the Allentown Arts Festival has prompted the local music showcase to move from Buffalo to being a centerpiece of the 2007 America's Fair in Hamburg. Music is Art, a five-year-old festival founded by Goo Goo Dolls bassist Robby Takac, is departing Buffalo and the Allentown weekend in July for Saturday, Aug. 11 at the Erie County Fairgrounds in Hamburg. The festival, designed to showcase local acts, will now anchor the fair's annual live music lineup. Music is Art and the neighboring Allentown Arts Festival have been at odds with each since Takac introduced the music festival in 2004. Allentown officials objected to the festival and tried on several occasions to either shut it down or limit public access. Last summer, members of Mayor Byron Brown's staff tried to mediate a resolution between the two festivals. Meetings were held for more than eight months. "Regrettably, after months of negotiation through city hall, we were not able to gain the street permits or the Allentown Art Festival board's blessing to hold the fifth annual event at it's original site on Franklin Street in conjunction with the Allentown Art Festival," Takac said. Brown's spokesman Peter Cutler, however, said while talks did take place, the Music is Art organizers never filed an official permit request with the city - a move that was needed to further discuss the issue with Allentown. Instead, Takac said, the America's Fair - formerly the Erie County Fair - stepped forward and offered its grandstand stage for the event. "They are doing everything they can to help us get the event off the ground at this year's fair," Takac said. This year's festival will feature two stages of live music. The band schedule is still being worked out by organizers. Music is Art is a not for profit organization whose mission is to mentor, nurture and support the arts in Western New York schools and communities. http://www.bizjournals.com/buffalo/stories/2007/04/30/daily28.html

It sounds like Robby's really positive about the move to Hamburg, and I think it's a better venue, in actuality. The fair draws far more people than Allentown does, and hey ... it's closer to MY house! lol Of course, this year, wouldn't ya know it, I have a wedding to attend that day. But yanno, part of me really REALLY wishes they could have stayed in Allentown and been a huge thorn in Mary Myiweroiucoiuoiuz's side. Snobby little witch.

| You and your wedding. I made a suggestion to you in a PM. That should make the day a little more bearable. And that's "Myiweirdobiotchucoiuoiuz". (What? We have an edi-o-meter-now?)...
