Just went and played on the IM presale for Saratoga Springs to see what that deal is about VIP tickets for $150 (apiece, not a set).
VIP = front 2 rows of the pit
Regular = scattered throughout the orchestra level, ranging from row A - V, the closest row being approximately row 7.
Niiiiiice. When I say "SELL" you say "OUT".
I'm so over this... Can't wait to hear how it's not the band's fault.

I ended up getting 2 tickets for row E.
I hit 1 ticket instead of 2 and row A showed up at first.
Oh well. Don't really care anymore.
And I will be selling these tix unless I find a way to get there from Buffalo. I love when people bail out on you 10 minutes before presales.

It's like this. The presale used to be a crap shoot where you might get first row or sixteenth row, but you were just paying the regular ticke price. If you got front row, hey, you got lucky! Now... the first couple rows are $150 per ticket. So it's no longer enough to be a member of the fan club and get lucky with your seats, you need to pay $150.
The fallout on the IM is pretty fun though.
