I was there! Goo Goo Dolls By Erin Sweeney Sun-News Reporter Article Launched: 02/15/2007 01:00:00 AM MST Comedian David Spade has a Lynyrd Skynyrd concert stand-up bit that voices the sentiments of many concert-goers: Play it like the CD — "no tricks." The Goo Goo Dolls, at their Feb. 14 "Let Love In" El Paso performance at the Plaza Theater, obliged. From opening song "Slide," to mid-show accents like "Black Balloon" (accompanied with the release of the tune's namesake into the audience) to closing sing-along "Iris," and an encore cover of "Give a Little Bit," the sold-out crowd was loving the live discography, as they were standing, bobbing heads, screaming between songs and pumping fists in the air. The Goo Goo Dolls have been around for a while (they formed in 1986) and I listened to them when I was in middle and high school. I am now 25 and during the drive to the concert, I figured the average fan's age would be 25 and up. Bingo. But ` that excluded the other 50 percent of the audience — middle schoolers with braces, little girls with flowers, Emo teens with beanies and eye liner and entire families. Watching the crowd illuminate the theater with cell phones and digital cameras, I had to laugh ` when "Slide" came out, I think my family still had rotary phones. These guys have withstood the test of time. http://www.lcsun-news.com/pulse/ci_5233853

| LOL. I get what this reviewer is saying. When I went to my first Goo concert in Manchester last year, I thought 25-ish (my age) would be the average - I nearly had a heart attack when I looked around me at the sea of 16-year olds.... and suddenly I felt kind of old.
