A bitter sweet message

This hurts but feels so good.....
We rec'd this message yesterday from Katrina's Angels and although she's giving us a kudos for our efforts it saddens me to see organizations like this so close to their breaking point....
in referrence to our ebay auction:
Jane, thank you and Kari!! You have no idea what we can do with this money. We are used to working with money out of our pockets which were never very much but now all the directors are pretty well tapped out. (Broke) for a better word! One of our directors even dipped into her Sons college fund to pay for shipping out boxes so this is just an awesome thing you are doing, and it is so appreciated.
People don't really understand everything we have been doing down in the gulf with all our own money, but we have helped hundreds and hundreds of people. We have been trying for grants but no one wants to be that "first one" to give us one so we have been rejected so many times. So now it's either donations come in or someone breaks down and gives us a grant or we fold. We don't want to do that at all but like I said we all have used every penny we could spare (and some we couldn't) and our pots are now empty.
Sometimes you just have to tell me to shut up!! LOL Ok, I am done.....you have a good night.

Kari...I'm so glad you and Jane were able to help this cause with the auction. Maybe you'll be able to get some more donations and do another auction again soon.
The situation is still dire in N.O. and it seems everyone in power has forgotten.

I've got some other items I'm adding to the auction.... will let all know when I get them up..... they will goto the same cause.
I'm thinking we have some other plans up our sleeves, but we need to make some contacts and see what availability is like....we'll see.
