Yeah so, I know its been a month since I went to see them, but I thought i'd write a lil review, so hopefully you guys wont mind me goin' on about it for a while.
Was so awesome, although we had to wait for 6 hours on the pavement and had fireworks thrown at us (well, whilst me and Clare were at Esso, so technically not me, but, yknow...) it was so god damn fun!
We arrived at about 1:10 and sat down on the pavement, I phoned my mum and dad and Clare was reading some scientist magazine which she kept insisting I said some of the headings in there down the phone to my parents "with emphasis" which confused the hell out of them, but it was all good. After a while more people joined the queue and this girl myshele (i think was her name) sent a card round for us to sign for Robby's birthday and chatted to us a bit, which was also very cool. Then me and Clare got bored and needed to wake up our asses a bit so proceeded to walk to the Esso garage to get some stuff. We came back and Gemma and Hannah told us that they had a firework thrown at them, well the group of us sitting outside and stuff which was a bit scary but yknow. Then this guy turned up with a guitar and sat with the people more at the front of the queue and started playing goo's songs which everyone was singing along to which was fun, Hannah and Gemma went to go sit with them for a bit too. Then a coach went past with tinted windows and everyone cheered, it was them!!! Gemma and Hannah came back and so me and Clare decided to go for a walk whilst they kept our place in the queue, and we walked round the side and saw the coaches and a few people, and heard what we thought was the goo's doing a sound-check. We were hanging around in case they came out, and Clare was saying we should go back but I made us both stay and then a guy came out saying "if you stand up against the wall in an orderaly line, the band will sign one thing each for you. Me and Clare were gobsmaked and phoned gemma and hannah to tell them. Gemma appeared a minute or 2 afterwards and said she wanted to see them and hannah was keeping our place in the queue.
First Robby came out and signed stuff, one guy asked him to sign his canadian, we still dont know what the hell the deal with that was!! He signed my new red hoody, Clare's tshirt and Gemma's tshirt. and we all said happy birthday to him, he grinned and said thanks and moved on, and i managed to get some pics of him! Then i dropped something so bent down to get it and Gemma screamed, no joke, ear piercingly loud, so i looked up and Johnny had just got off the bus and was making his way down the queue. He got to me and he signed my hoody next to Robby and touched me very slightly, lol! And signed Gemma and Clare's tops, and Gemma asked him to sign a bit of paper for Hannah. Then Mike soon came off after and also made his way down and he too signed my hoody, and Clare and Gemma's tshirt and the paper for Hannah. Then we took more pictures and then went back to the queue, showed Hannah our signed stuff and gave her her little signed paper, phoned people up to say we met them, and after half an hour calmed down a little, but still had grins on our faces and were still bewildered that we'd just met them!
A few hours after, Megan joined us with some people from college who Hannah knew, Emma and Esther and they all joined us and we managed to move up the queue a bit, but we sat down in our little group and talked and stuff for an hour, and learnt that Emma is afraid of birds and feathers, and played catch with a 5p!!!
Then it got to 6:55 and we stood up waiting to go in. tickets at the ready, the doors opened and we rushed in. Once we got our ticket scanned we ran down and got as close to the front as we could. We were practically at the barrier, there were peopel infront but we stook in between them and as the concert went on i managed to get right to the barrier. The support act was the tender box, who were pretty awesome too, they got the crowd warmed up and made us scream to the goo's in the changing rooms!!
Then at 9:00 the goo's came on and everyone like, screamed insanely and they started.It was an amazing night! They were all so alive on stage and were always moving around and were full of energy and had so much passion when singing, especially Iris and Name!! We were on the right so Robby was always near us, and Johnny always came over too! Robby kept looking over and grinning at us and it was just a fantastic night!
I love the Goo's!

Just had to reply to your post as it brought back so many memories for us!
We too were under attack from the fireworks that day and remember so much of what you've written about! It was Myshele who handed round the card for Robby's birthday and she was dishing out the party hats too - we've got pix of us in hats just like you have lol Alex was playing the Goo tracks on his guitar right near to where we were queueing AND, we think we may have been standing right near you when the band came out to sign by the bus!! lol
We clearly remember the guy asking Robby to sign his Canadian (he was standing to the right of us) and we too were like "what?"!! It seems he actually asked him to sign the picture of his Canadian girlfriend! We got the guys to sign our banner and one of our tickets and remember them going on to some girls next to us signing shirts and John saying something like "i'm ruining all these shirts"!!! Was that you??
Thanks for posting the pictures - it was an amazing evening wasn't it.

Yeeaaah! We're the ones he said that to!! That was so funny, where you the ones who asked to borrow our pen or something, or that may have been someone else, but yeah!! We were the girls who's shirts he thought he was ruining! That's so cool!!!

Wow, it's a small world isn't it?! lol Clearly remember John saying that... Don't think it was us who asked to borrow a pen although we do remember someone asking to borrow one lol
We didn't get any pictures of Robby coming off the bus as we were told no pictures but then realised afterwards they meant don't ask for any with the band but didn't twig until after John had signed our banner / ticket lol - duh!
Was cool to stand next to you!

Yeah was cool standing next to you too, I have an idea who you were now, was such an amazing day, huh. They signed my brand new 2 day old red Billabong hoody, which my mum wasn't too chuffed about, and now it's framed in my room with my ticket and party hat. So how close did you guys get to the front? I got leant on by some american guy, was so funny.
