There's a show in Erie, PA 12/5.

Now a rant:  I'm so very very very annoyed.  I bought tickets to the 11/15 London ONT show over a month ago.  London is about 2 1/2 hours away and I have to cross international borders.  Erie is less than 2 hours away and I happen to have a very very good friend in Erie who I've been looking for an excuse to visit.  My being a poor poor student doesn't allow me to go to 2 shows that close together.  Why couldn't they announce the full tour all at one time?  Normal bands go "Hey look, here's our tour.  Plan accordingly".  But the only band I will actually spend money to see these days says "Hey look, here's 3 dates.  If you buy tickets and then a more convenient date comes up a month later, screw you!"

I really should hold off on the complaining though.  I sense that about a day after tickets go on sale for Erie, they'll announce a show in Buffalo.  Or with my luck, in Amherst, in the theatre of the school I'm at everyday...

That's been happening to me too, with other bands.
You buy tickets for a show that's kinda out there, but you want to see the band so bad you buy tickets and rearrange your schedule like a lunatic.
Then a few days later they announce a date for a more convenient location, on a date that works better for you.
It's a conspiracy, I tell you.

It just feels like a scam to sell more tickets to me.  I understand that dates can't be confirmed until the contracts are worked out, but why do tickets for some shows have to go on sale before the list is out there?  Considering no one who bought presale tickets a month ago have their tickets, what difference would it have made for them to make tickets go on sale until this week unless it was a cheap ploy to make people buy tickets for more shows?

I'm not going to throw all the blame on the Goos for this one, but I will say that everyone who has been involved in anything having to do with the Goos in the last 6 months should be fired.  I've never seen a crew of people try so hard to piss off a band's fans before.

Wow...the band is down to that size venue now?  On one hand, I'm glad they're coming to my town...might have to get someone to go with me.   Grin   (Hey Pam?! Whatcha think?)

On the other...the Warner is VERY small, so that's depressing that they're touring that size venue now.

They played Warner Theatre in 2002 as well.  I agree that their fan base has probably shrunk significantly since then (which is why they coheadlined the arenas), but you don't need to be that concerned.  I really think fall isn't a huge season for concert going, so the venues are always much smaller in the fall.

For some acts anyhow.  I'm going to a show (not Goo) in early November at the HSBC (which is in Buffalo where the Sabres play, in case you don't know) that's much larger and will probably sell out, if it hasn't already.    I'm worried overall about the Goos popularity, not just about this.  And if the last show I saw them perform was any indication, I should be.  Goos strength is their live show, and it was an AWFUL show.  I'm keeping positive and thinking it was just an off night.

Hey, Iris - I was planning on going by myself - getting a an IM presale ticket tomorrow and having Rich get one for me on Ticketbastard when they start on sale Saturday (and I'd use the better one, of course).  If I didn't have to work Saturday I'd be there in person to pick seats myself.......... but the work-demons prevail and he certainly didn't offer to camp out for me

But if you need a concert-buddy, I can get pairs instead of singles..............
Which, of course, means that I'll either have an extra ticket or a pair - if anyone else wanted to meet up to buy the other one(s) from me.  Even though the Warner has no actual "bad" seats, I'm not totally sold on the "best available" gig that IM talks about - so I want to cover my a$$ and get hard-tickets, too.

Get back to me by tomorrow presale time (3:00) so I know what to do..................

Who else from the board will be there??!!!
Maybe we can come up with something special to do ............ considering it's Johnny's birthday and all!!!

Like, wow. The red o does indeed have psychic powers. They've now annnounced a gig at Seneca Niagara Events Center.

I'm in the same boat. Bought tickets to the Hammerstien show in NYC. Will have to pay for the train and the cab to get to & from that concert, which is general admission...not my favorite thing.
Now they announce a show at the Hartford Civic Center?
Exsqueeze me? I think the Civic Center has a seating capacity of something like 16,500.
What the heck?  Arena rock returns.

I have slightly pessimistic psychic powers.  They were kind enough to post these shows the day BEFORE Erie went on sale.  I am sad though, because Erie tickets are super cheap.  And Niagara Falls won't be.

Yeah, I have the inconvenient thing too.  London is going to be a pain, but I'm pretty sure I'll do both (because the NF show is going to be a birthday present.  The parents just don't know yet  Cheesy )  And I'm guessing the Hartford venue is like the London one.  They close off an end of the arena for the show for a capacity of like 3000.

So... I went onto the IM site to look at the Erie presales today.  Look, not buy.  I pulled up the front row in the pit in seat 8 (of 14).  It really really hurt letting that go...
