Besides for the fact that its an acoustic-only song, how did this song get it's name? Why #3, and not another number? There isn't a number 1 or 2 are there? Get back to me guys. Thanks!! -Have a goo day

The full version is on the cd What I Learned About Ego, Opinion, Art, & Commerce. I think it's #3 because Two Days In February was #1 and Name was #2. Not positive there, though. |
| I think they shortened and renamed the song before the 5 singles were decided. I think John did it to prevent it from being an initial single. I don't think it was the original song on EOAC. I think that was a completely new version. I don't know why the name is what it is. I doubt it's because of Name and Two Days in February, because there are more acoustic songs before that. John probably just liked the number 3 at that moment or something.

I thought I read somewhere that John wrote it short on purpose becuase he didn't want it to be a single because he didn't want everyone to thing that they only write ballads. The EOAC verson is an extended version that was done when they were making EOAC. I don't know why John called it Acoustic #3. In the Backyard BBQ concert, John introduced it by saying, "This is a song that doesn't have a name..." Maybe he didn't properly name it to keep it from being a single or maybe he couldn't think of a good name for it. Obviously it is an acoustic song, but I have no idea why he called it #3.

| That's exactly what I've read about it too. I know from what I've read that he definitely didn't want it to be a single. I guess he did a combination of all those things to prevent it from being released as a single.

| yeah, same here. I read something recently where John said he just wanted people to appreciate the song for what it was, and not some overblown, huge single.

sure it was mentioned that it also meant more to John than lots of his other songs so he wanted it short n sweet. He mentioned he got quite a few songs which he's written for loved ones that aint been recorded, I bet theyd be amazing
