Does anyone know when the gates open for the show tomorrow at the First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre.. formerly known as Tweeter?  The show is at 7... how early do you think the gates will open?

I'm pretty sure the gates open at 6pm.... that's when I'm arriving, and that's when Last Conservative is performing. Smiley

How did you like the show last night Carlyn?  I loved Goo, but they should have definitely been after counting crows.  Counting Crows was kind of a letdown... they didn't convey the same energy level as goo.

The concert was awesome!  I loved it!  I stayed for the Counting Crows too, and I agree I wish they wouldplay more upbeat songs and just get the song over with instead of telling the story of the song in the middle and just dragging it on.  It would be nice if they just reworked one or two songs and made them really long, but they do that to ALL of their songs and it gets old.

Anyways, John talked a lot during the beginning and was pretty funny.  Someone gave him a photo album with really old pictures of them.  He made the camera man zoom in on the picture so everyone could see it on the big screens.  He also said he spent the past few days in Chicago and said it's an amazing city. Grin

Here's the setlist:

Stay With You
Slide
Feel The Silence
Black Balloon
Smash
Tucked Away
Name
We'll Be Here (When You're Gone)
Iris
Broadway
Here Is Gone
January Friend
Better Days
Let Love In

Become
Give A Little Bit
Without You Here

I hope that's the right order... I'm writing this from memory.

My friend, Country, who posts here sometimes, gave John the album. She had a huge envelope full of old, old, old Goo articles so she compiled them all into an album and decided to give it to them. I'm so excited for her that she was able to get it to John during the show. She was also the one who made the huge, hand sewn banner that's in the LIB DVD. The banner is in the bonus section under 'Wednesday'. She and I are holding it up for the camera before the private show. The banner is also featured in the GALB video at the very beginning. I'm sure she'll share some pictures with us...I've already seen a few.

Carlyn...I'm glad you enjoyed the show. I found myself thinking the exact thing about the Crows set....get it over with already...lol  Like you said...a few songs would have been nice but all of them became monotonous.

Shannon, that's so cool that your friend was the one who gave John the album!
