I'd say you're probably pretty safe with that
guess. I love SP to death... Mellon Collie is my
favorite album of all time... but I think the new
album is going to sound a bit more like Siamese
Dream.
As for your instrument question, the entire band
was present for this recording, including the
wonderful Jimmy Chamberlin. I really think Billy
learned from his Adore mistakes...
As I said, I have listened to one song expected to
be on the new album, and the music was absolutely
beautiful. To my dismay, the lyrics were a bit on
the cheesy side... but I can live with that...
the beauty of the music almost made me cry the
first few times I heard it. It really did remind
me of "Mayonaise" except that it's quite a bit
shorter.
