Ms. Cole:
Just wanted to send along a couple thoughts. As
the father of a 13 year daughter and 15 year old
son, I hear alot of contemporary music. Upon
hearing your songs in recent months, I was
impressed with the quality of your voice and its
range. Because of that, I purchased your "Fire"
CD.
Unfortunately, I found that I had to take the disk
to work and leave it there. Why? Because of the
lyrics to several of your songs included very
vulgar language. The funny things is that the
message in the songs would not have been changed
at all had you avoided using such language.
As a role model for young adults I would encourage
you to carefully consider the language in the
music you write. You have to ask yourself how
the great authors and musicians of years gone by
survived without the word "F...."!
