I miss Kurt Cobain. When Nirvana entered the music
scene in the early 90's, rock was literally
reborn. I sang high praise the day Hair Bands
became "uncool!"
With the passing of Kurt, there opened up this
huge rock music void. But this was ok because the
void had endless possibility; it could have
easily been filled with a dozen or so more
talented musicians and inspirational poets,
feeding rock music into the new millenium. But
this isn't what happened. Instead, talentless
showman like "kid rock," and angry, hate filled
bands like "limp biskit," and "Korn" hi-jacked
the airwaves. Likewise, bubblegum bands like
"n'sync" and big busted bimbos like "britney
spears," who ADMITEDLY don't write their own
songs and who were signed to a music label with
the SOLE purpose of robbing teenagers of their
hard earned allowance, easily sell a bazillion
albums.
On the other end of the spectrum, you have poor,
but extremely talented musicians like "Elliot
Smith" who are forced to scrape the bottom of the
music well to make a living. It doesn't make
sense!
I implore any of you who read this to turn off
your damn radio. YOU ARE being force fed crap by
a life-sucking monster, commonly referred to as
"the music industry."
Go out there and listen to some lesser-known
bands, you might be surprised at what you hear!
Talent rarely exists on the radio these days. I
miss Kurt Cobain.
Peace
