I find "artists" annoying. Metallica have become
artists. I don't buy their music anymore after
many long years of supporting them. Number one
reason is that the music isn't as good as it used
to be. For whatever reason I can't get into it.
It's not that I have gotten older and lost touch
with my younger self. My musical tastes have
evolved for sure but I still know a good tune
when I hear it. St.Anger was not a good tune.
It was hard on my ears to be honest with you.
Load was really bad. ReLoad was better. Garage
Days was OK but most of it was old stuff that I
liked already anyway. The new covers were pretty
weak. To be honest I have lost touch with just
about everything that Metallica does. For the
most part I really don't care to see them in the
news. The last time I did was the coup de grase.
The Lars tirade about how he hated people that
were trying to hear their music for free. If the
idiot had thought ahead he would have known that
the Napster thing would blow over rather quickly.
But no. He chose to come out hard on the very
fans that loved him so much. I'm still pissed
about that. I know they don't care, and it's for
that very reason that I will never buy anything
to do with Metallica as long as I live.
