I am very glad Meredith's "See it through my eyes"
has been rereleased. Although I do not agree
with the record company's ethics of rereleasing
it without her permission, thinking positively,
it is an excellent representation of mid 80's
rock with a great diversity of musical styles.

Pick it Up - uptempo happy beat like a Go-Go's
song. Meredith singing the lyric "Pick It Up"
actually reminds me of Belinda Carlisle singing a
fun, cheery lovable song.

The Look - A nice good ol' rock 'n roll edge;
probably the hardest of all songs on the album.
"Hook a crook" is my favorite lyric line on the
entire CD. The first of my favorite songs if the
CD is played in order.

You're gonna miss my loving - reminds me of Dolly
Parton. I think the beginning melody has a
country style mixed in with rock. I can't say
the whole song is country or even influenced
entirely by that genre of music, but Dolly and
Shania Twain always come to mind when I hear this
song.

See It Through My Eyes - a beautiful ballad with
beautiful lyrics. Perfect name for the album and
wonderful music too.

Thunder and Lightning - My favorite song!
Reminds me of Fiona Flanagan's "Tender Is The
Heart" from her 1986 "Beyond The Pale" album
although Fiona also has a song called "Thunder
And Lightning" off the same album. I can picture
the 2 women touring together doing an '80s
flashback.
This is my favorite song because not only is it
uptempo, a change of melody gets me. This is
when Meredith sings, "Well, there's a pleasurable
pain. Isn't thunder just frightening?"
I picture Meredith dressed like the '80's in a
studio with black walls with thick neon pink and
purple wavy lines with the '80s effect. The
floor is brown tinted with pink light and a disco
ball hangs from the ceiling spinning around with
it's silver squares rotating around in a
clockwise pattern around the floor.
Meredith is sitting on a tall stool, guitar in
hand, singing the song into the microphone.
This songs takes me the most down '80s memory
lane.

Video Idol - a nice synthesizer song to start off
what would probably originally be the 2nd side of
the cassette tape or vinyl record back in 1984.
The word "video" makes me think of MTV.
The word "Idol"? Well, I picture a tall woman
with neon lime green hair with the sides shaved,
but long enough that it forms a wave on top.
She's on stage outside, in front of an audience
with a large television screen on stage. She
wears black and has a microphone in hand.
Don't ask me why I imagine that, but a woman
vision is a good respresentation of celebrating
women in rock. Way to go Meredith!

Jessica - an excellent of combining a hard edge
with some country again. As a song title using a
person's actual name, this is an excellent song
with a nice beat.

Company man - probably the fastest tempo and
shortest song on CD, I think the chorus repeats
itself too much at the end, but I guess that's
the only way to make the song over 3 minutes
long.
It's one of my favorites though; it just belts
out the rock 'n roll!

Your Attention - The very beginning and the
chorus give this song a Fleetwood Mac feel.
Can't name the specific song, but I guess it
could be described as a folk style with a rock
arrangement.

Who's Fooling Who - reminds me of Quarterflash's
"Welcome To The City" from their 1985 album
"Back Into Blue".
Wait! 1984 came before 1985 so maybe Meredith
influenced Quarterflash.
I hope Meredith takes that as a compliment. No
one can deny influences and the influencer should
feel proud of him or herself.
Meredith wrote both the music and lyrics so if
this song influenced anyone in anyway, she has a
lot to feel positive about!

As you can see, I've mentioned a lot of different
artists in this excerpt to show that I associate
Meredith with a bunch of them.
This goes to show that she is a talented person
that will have a lot of diversity and doesn't
just perform only one genre of music.
I believe she will have much to offer her fans
and listeners in the future.
