1. That's funny since I have records of Jimi
playing with Curtis Knight and other acts far
further back than that and he was playing pretty
much the same stuff as after he got famous.
Albiet most of it more reserved so as not to piss
off the singers he was backing, his style was
exactly the same back then, Little Richard fired
him for being more popular among the audience
than he himself was. Cough, Chas was a bass
player, so he's going to show Jimi how to be a
better guitarist then is he? Duh..
2.Why would only a fool disgaree? Because you're
opinion MUST be right and anybody else is wrong?
3.You mean Jimi couldn't play blues or jazz? You
better unclog your ears and listen more closely,
and I think it's fair to say Jimi was far better
at either than Eric was or is today, Eric has
never truly mastered the blues, why do you think
he's become such a sorry soul? BTW his cover of
Little Wing was pitiful..
3.Even though I've heard him say in an interview
he was using an experimental wah on I Don't Live
Today and WAS the first to use it, but refutes
the competition factor as it really is
irrelevant. The fact Jimi used it again on the
jokey Stars that Play with Laughing Sam's Dice on
Smash Hits and again on Up From The Skies on Axis
further prove he was the first to use the effect,
and what does it matter anyway, Jimi clearly
mastered the pedal, Eric did not.
4. Poorly researched information just because it
conflicts with your own self serving oinion and
shows your Eric up for what he is, a good
guitarist, but nowhere near Jimi's standards. And
please learn to type coherently in properly
punctuated sentences without CAPS LOCK on all the
type, as it looks rather awful.
