I saw these guys (the original incarnation) a couple of times back in 1998 and I
was *very* impressed. Soon after, there was the whole Guinness fest spotlight
and it really looked like things were going places for that band. I felt so
fortunate that I "discovered" a wonderful, totally original, new band and that
I had bragging rights once they were this huge jamband with a devoted
following, yada, yada.
I'm not sure what exactly happened with Bloo. I remember reading some things
after Brendan Lynch quit, was fired, or whatever, and those statements seemed
to point toward mismanagement. Of course, there were statements from management
and those fingers seemed pointed at Lynch. Then, one by one, key players took
off. Are these guys still together even? Talk about blowing a good thing.
Yeah, they "bloo" it. That's too bad. I still listen to "Land Mimes" fairly
often and I think it's a brilliant CD. -cc-
