Remix

This piece was composed using a Korg MS2000 and a Roland MC-505 being sequenced by Cakewalk 9. The Korg bassline was a patch that I created using a triangle and a square waveforms. Drums and synth parts were composed by me. This is my first piece to exclusively use outboard gear. I was playing around with the Industrial kit on the 505 and it had some sounds reminicent of Reznor's Closer. The track is pretty stripped down and minimal and hopefully dark. The notes used are D#, F#, G, A, A# for a hopefully evil feel. (minor seconds and minor thirds being employed)

I could have attempted to make the realization of this track to be more dense but felt the track was already thick enough. I actually pulled back on the density. The MC-505 has seperate outputs for sounds but I only took the main/stereo out mix from the unit as I have not learned how to change this yet. The Korg and Roland are fed into my cheap yet effective Behringer studio mixer. Their cheapie DJ mixer is noisy as hell but for studio mixers they do a great job. This track was done in 5 hours between two nights and I'm sorry it sucks the llama's nutsack.
